Chemists and Material Scientists Provide Hair Stylists with Insights Into Developing Hair Products

Atlanta, GA, February 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The February Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional (ANHC Pro) breakfast is being held on February 19, 2012 from 11am to 1pm at Mojito Restaurant located inside of Hotel Midtown and is being co-sponsored by AtlantaLife Insurance Company. Featured speakers Dr. Samuel Hunter and Dr. Theresa Harris of the American Shea Butter Institute (ASBI) will be discussing: Starting and formulating a product line, pros and cons of some today's popular hair products and ingredients, and reading and understanding product labels and ingredients. Also at the breakfast there will be gifts and give-a-ways for the attendees. At the post breakfast networking session Team B.L.A.C.K. will showcasing natural hair styles.

The February ANHC Pro Breakfast will include a breakfast buffet, a 30-45 minute presentation from ASBI, a post breakfast networking session including a live model showcase from Team B.L.A.C.K., gift bags for attendees, and a prize drawing. Because it falls on the same weekend as the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show the door tickets for the February ANHC Pro Breakfast are expected to sell out quickly. The ANHC Pro breakfast serves as a place for professionals to meet and learn about ideas, products, services, issues, and events that are relevant to the natural hair care industry. The breakfast is free for Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional members and $15.00 for the general public.

The VP of Business Development for ANHC Pro says “In these times of quick information and “Do It Yourself” attitudes it is important to have experts speak to our professional stylists about the realities of creating and identifying quality natural hair care products.” Dr. Samuel Hunter, prior to founding ASBI held an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Rutgers University; practiced the specialty of Internal Medicine in Broward County, Florida for 20 years; and served as the CEO of the multi-specialty East Broward Medical Center, a multi-million dollar medical facility. In 2000, Dr. Hunter took a sabbatical to study the biochemistry and commercial value of African grown seed-oils including castor, sunflower, neem, and shea nut. His expertise and findings led him to form ASBI, which helps thousands of professionals nationally and abroad with the development, distribution, evaluation, and marketing of shea butter base products.
