Electro Standards Laboratories Releases Model 8449 A/B Switch with Barrier Terminal Block Remote
The Model 8449 is a multi-interface A/B switch with Barrier Terminal Block Port for Remote Monitoring and 2 channels of RJ45 connectors and 3 channels of BNC connectors.
Cranston, RI, February 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The new Model 8449 5-Channel RJ45/BNC AB Switch from Electro Standards Laboratories has a Barrier Terminal Block Port to allow remote monitoring of the switch position. This Multi-Interface Switch also features two channels with RJ45 connectors that are certified for Cat5e compliance and three channels that utilize BNC Coaxial connectors.
The Model 8449 Desktop Switch allows a device connected to the Common port to access devices connected to the A and B ports and simultaneously switches all five channels via front-panel rotary switch. This high quality sealed switch with self-wiping low impedance contacts also improves computer network efficiency by allowing the sharing of peripherals without having to plug and unplug cables and without requiring an external power supply.
The Model 8449’s two RJ45 channels are rated for 10/100/1000 Base-T networks, up to Cat5e and all eight pins of the RJ45 interface are switched. The three BNC channels switch both the shield and center conductor of the coaxial interfaces. The four position barrier terminal block port on rear panel provides switch position/status via two contacts for A position, and two contacts for B position for remote monitoring of switch. The unit has an attractive anodized black box packaging providing EMI/RFI shielding. The Model 8449 also has four threaded screw holes located on bottom panel to facilitate mounting to a flat surface and weighs approximately 2.5 lbs.
