Rare Bird Trading Company, N.C. China Center Host Chinese Investment Promotion Agency Delegation
North Carolina Groups Welcome CIPA Delegates in a Celebration of State’s Exports to Asian Nation
Research Triangle Park, NC, February 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Rare Bird Trading Company (http://www.rarebirdtrading.com) has announced that it hosted a reception along with the North Carolina China Center (NCCC) (http://www.ncchinacenter.org/), which, like Rare Bird Trading Company, is housed at the World Trade Park in the headquarters building of Longistics (http://www.longistics.com), for members of the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) delegation and area business leaders on Dec. 13 to celebrate products from the state that recently have been exported for sale in the Asian nation. CIPA is a division of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce that organizes and promotes inbound and outbound foreign investment.
Rare Bird Trading Company sponsored reception treated CIPA delegates to several delicious products from North Carolina-based businesses such as wines from Lexington, N.C.-based Childress Vineyards and award-winning food from The Angus Barn of Raleigh, N.C. Both organizations are storing, promoting and selling their products and services at the recently-opened Suzhou Industrial Park International Commodities Exhibition Center in Suzhou, China, which is supported by Rare Bird and Longistics to provide U.S. businesses a gateway into the greater Asia consumer market.
CIPA Deputy Director Yu Hua led the 22-member delegation, which included officials with the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM, the Economic Development District Administration Committees of several Chinese provinces, China Investment Service Center and CIIC Bio-Medical Development Corporation. Members of the N.C. Department of Agriculture were also in attendance to lead a presentation about North Carolina.
Quotes:
“Rare Bird Trading Company was proud to provide this homegrown celebration for our friends from CIPA in recognition of recent investments by several of our state’s businesses to exhibit their wares and services for sale in the country,” said Pat Long, Rare Bird CEO. “We are strengthening the ties for long-term economic development between North Carolina and China that will prove to be a wise investment for both parties as we increase our trading activities.”
“It was an honor to treat our distinguished guests in the CIPA delegation to the delights of some of the best food and drink North Carolina has to offer,” said Duane Long, chairman and co-creator of the North Carolina China Center. “We are encouraged by their eagerness to conduct more business with our state and look forward to working together in the future.”
