Want to Write Effective Research Proposals?

London, United Kingdom, February 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Complementary to Idox Information Solutions’ existing suite of CPD-accredited funding training courses, the Effective Research Proposals workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to early and mid-career academic staff on how to compile high scoring funding applications, highlighting the Impact and Knowledge Exchange elements to meet the RCUK’s Pathway’s To Impact guidance. The course can be tailored to an institution or department’s Research Council interest.

The workshop is ideal for academic staff that are expected to write funding applications for Research Councils and the Technology Strategy Board. Delegates are encouraged to bring along funding applications they are working on, or bids that have previously been submitted by their organisation, for use in the practical elements of the day.

This course will be led by Sheila Deighton, who brings a depth of knowledge from her work over the past 17 years in both the voluntary and public sectors. From her former role as Knowledge Transfer Manager at the NWDA she brings a sound understanding of Government policy within innovation, enterprise and knowledge exchange. Her current work on the commissioning panel of a leading Research Council also means she has an in-depth understanding of what makes research proposals attractive.

An introductory rate of £195 plus VAT per person applies, which includes lunch and light refreshments during the day and covers the costs of course material. The option to run a closed course at client premises is also available at a negotiable cost.
