Defense Strategies Institute Announces Their Next DoD/VA iEHR & HIE Summit Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project
In October, 2011, DSI, A Veteran Owned Small Business, gathered Senior DoD, VA, and Federal Healthcare Leadership, along with industry to discuss and debate the iEHR architectural roadmap released by then SECDEF Gates and Gen. Shinseki. For the next iteration of the Summit in May, DSI has decided to spearhead bold discussions and debates on “How to be Successful Across Domain Data Sharing & the iEHR.”
Washington, DC, February 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In October 2011, they covered topics such as the CIIF, cloud computing, ESBs, Joint and Service unique applications, and featured a half day workshop on the patient centered medical home model. “For May, we will focus in on working towards clinically relevant, technically feasible, and financially viable solutions,” stated Lisa Madison, Director of Communications for DSI. “This is a mission statement of the OCIO for the MHS, and it is our goal to take this mission and apply it to our Summit.
“We learned through our recent research efforts that both senior leaders in industry as well as the respective DoD, VA, and federal offices are really focused in on how to move forward given the technical, financial, and governance environment at this point. In a field such as healthcare, where there are multiple agents acting in tandem, it is extremely important that all involved are working towards a cohesive and holistic approach,” Madison further stated.
“Our educational and training Summits offer a non-partisan, informal forum where we encourage real, actionable, discussion and debate. This is a chance for the experts in the field to really roll their sleeves up and talk about their unique and shared perspectives with their respective colleagues,” Ms. Madison said.
An early release of the agenda shows that some of the topics will include:
Program Management and Acquisition in the IPO
Clinical Informatics to Meet the Demands of Tomorrow’s iEHR
Being Successful with Open Source
Successful Transitioning from Legacy EHR Systems to a Modern Platform
Being Successful with Data Sharing Between Federal /State/National and Commercial Entities
Being Successful with Identity Management and Security
The Institute’s unique forums also focus on an additional “mission critical goal,” supporting our Wounded Warriors. The Summit will directly benefit the 501c3 nonprofit Wounded Warrior Project through financial proceeds raised by the Summit.
The forum will be open to the public, however seating is limited and the October 2011 Summit sold out. Anyone interested in participating in the Summit can go to Defense Strategies Institute's website for more information or to register to attend at :www.dsigroup.org or http://iehrsummit.dsigroup.org.
