DCB Extreme Adventures Announces Multi-Sport Season Opening in Arizona

The start of the Multi-Sport season in Arizona opens with the 15th Annual TriSports.com Desert Classic Duathlon. This race has drawn in olympic gold medalists and professional athletes to compete and this year's $5,000 professional purse is sure to draw even more.

Phoenix, AZ, February 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The start of the Multi-Sport season in Arizona opens in just 3 weeks, marked by the 15th Annual TriSports.com Desert Classic Duathlon. This prestigious event will be held at the McDowell Mountain Regional Park on March 10, 2012.

This is traditionally the first multi-sport event held in Arizona, and is typically one of the first ones nationally due to our beautiful spring temperatures. Many professional athletes and Olympic gold medalists have used the Desert Classic Duathlon in their preparations for the Ironman and Olympics. These have included IronMan 70.3 world champions Samantha McGlone and Joanna Zeiger, Olympic gold medalists Simon Whitfield (triathlon) and Kristin Armstrong (cycling) and Xterra World Champion and 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Michael Tobin.

“The TriSport.com Desert Classic Duathlon has consistently attracted some of the best multi-sport athletes, because it is one of the first races of the year,” said David Benjes, owner of DCB Extreme Adventures. This event is one of the first in the country because of the perfect temperatures in Arizona early in the year. With the addition of Lance Armstrong to the multi-sport racing community, the popularity of this sport is growing more than ever. This year’s event should be one of the best yet.

Individuals interested in experiencing multi-sport for the first time or professional athletes who want to win their share of the $5,000 purse can register today at www.DCBAZ.com.
