Women Celebrate International Women’s Day Online

Tucson, AZ, February 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- To celebrate International Women’s Day this March, an online community of women will blog, Tweet, and Vlog about the importance of sisterhood, and further delve into the topic through a virtual radio show and seminar.

Women on the Verge (WOTV) is a virtual group of women all around the world that converge on the website www.womenontheverge.net to express themselves and find sisterly support. While members discuss anything of their liking, there is a monthly topic which for the month of March is: Sisterhood. Anyone can create a free account and start making new “sisters” by joining the community.

“This is the month to honor and be grateful for our ‘sisters’ in this world,” says Tucsonan Ana Lewis, who founded the website in 2009. “Embrace your sisterhood, your team and remember why they are so very, very important in the big picture.”

International Women’s Day, on March 8, celebrates the changing female role in society and their economic, political and social achievements. All historical women down to today’s everyday women, have mothers, sisters and friends that helped become the women they are. The WOTV blogs, which garner 1,000,000 hits per month, are the main feature of the community and have landed the website in the pages of Marie Claire magazine. The community also boasts an additional 10,000 followers on social media. Members span all over the world and include New York Times bestselling authors, entrepreneurs and mothers. WOTV members have online profiles with pictures and personal information, and can upload comments and become friends, similar to Facebook.

On March 7, WOTV along with life coach Judy Kinney will offer a telecall seminar called The Art of Creating Your Personal Support Team. “Having your own support team, and being on others’ support team makes life richer, more meaningful and so much easier,” states Kinney about this month’s Spa for your Soul. A bit later in the month on March 21, some of the WOTV members will talk about their blogs on the Women Change the World online radio show on www.blogtalkradio.com/womenontheverge. The show airs every third Wednesday of the month, from 7 to 8 p.m.
