Robert Patillo Announces Support for HR 1335;Democrat Robert Patillo Reaffirms support for local control over public education.

Atlanta, GA, February 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Candidate Robert Patillo issued a statement supporting the Georgia House Democrats in their opposition to HR 1162 and in support of HR 1335. In his statement, Patillo stated:

“Local control of public education is paramount for the educational future of Georgia. HR 1162 is a dangerous step towards removing decisions making powers from parents and local communities and wresting them in the hands of political appointees. I fully support the Georgia House Democrats, Teachers, Parents and Children in their efforts to chart the better course proposed in HR 1335. Georgia needs educational reform that addresses the real problems facing our public education system and the offer real solutions to ensure our next generation has the educational opportunities needed to make Georgia competitive in the future and help us to fulfill the American Dream for more of our citizens.”

Robert Patillo is a candidate for State Representative for Georgia House District
53. Patillo is a graduate of Clark-Atlanta University and Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2009 where he served as President of the Black Law Students Association. Previously, Patillo served as a Field Manager for Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. in fundraising for the Democratic National Committee in 2004, lead workers’ rights campaigns during the Student Labor Week of Action in 2005 and assisted Rainbow/PUSH in the 2005 initiative to re-authorize the Voters Rights Act in addition to working on issues of corporate diversity and minority representation in Fortune 500 companies.

He recently served as the Statewide Field Director for Ken Hodges Campaign
for Attorney General and currently works as a practicing attorney in Atlanta at The Patillo Law Group, LLC.
