Dr. Bill Holevas of Dental Passions Becomes Founding Member of American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH)

Elgin, IL, February 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Growing evidence supports the link between the mouth’s health and the rest of the body, something Dr. Holevas has made it a priority to study. More than that, he and his entire team at Dental Passions have sought out experts from across the country, in order to learn and incorporate what they have studied into their patient care.

They traveled to Virginia for an intense training on advanced periodontal oral/systemic (the entire body) medicine, hosted by Dr. Lisa Marie Samaha, a leader in the field. Since then Dr. Holevas has redoubled his efforts to establish relationships with medical providers within the community, so that they can establish a basis for working together to benefit mutual patients. Based on what he has learned, he hopes that he can help his patients better understand and prevent serious health complications, as well as to work hand-in-hand with their physicians.

To further his work in this field, he became a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving interdisciplinary healthcare and collaboration. AAOSH’s goal is to educate both medical and dental professionals about the mouth-body connection. They hope, in part, to facilitate the rapid and accurate exchange of knowledge. “The hope is to benefit all health professionals, as well as to help millions of people worldwide to live healthier, longer and happier lives,” says Dr. Holevas.
