Weekly Menu Club Launches Fundraising Program for Nonprofits

Weekly Menu Club, a service created to help families save time and money, and to eat better, has launched a new fundraising program for nonprofit organizations to earn much needed funds without having to organize an event, sell items that no one really wants or invest capital upfront.

Owner/Chef Rochelle Barcellona has lived in Folsom for 20 years, has been both a Parks & Recreation and Library Commissioner, and is a long-time supporter of myriad community organizations. “I’ve served in lots of positions within different organizations over the years here in Folsom and fundraising has always been a dreaded necessity. We’d always try to find something new and different that wouldn’t take up too much time to organize and would have a big enough payout at the end,” says Barcellona. “I realized that Weekly Menu Club is a great opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to earn much needed funds without having to organize an event, sell items that no one really wants or invest capital upfront.”

So what is Weekly Menu Club? “This service was born out of necessity,” says Barcellona. “I wanted my family to eat more varied, healthier, tastier meals. I found that I was spending several hours a week searching through recipe books and making a shopping list, so I decided to create a better way.” Weekly Menu Club is a subscription-based service. Every Friday morning, members receive their upcoming weekday dinners’ menus, recipes and a categorized shopping list. It is the perfect service for those who like to cook, but either don’t have the time or don’t want to spend all of the time planning the meals.

According to Barcellona, the club has different meal plans from which to choose, including Quick Family Meals, which can be prepared in about 30 minutes or less, Light & Tasty, for those wanting less fat and calories with all of the flavor, and Vegetarian.
