Jerusalem House today announced that its Executive Director Charlie Frew has been elected to the National AIDS Housing Coalition Board of Directors. The National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC) is an organization that focuses exclusively on the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable people across the U.S.
After a highly successful career in corporate America, Frew joined Jerusalem House in April 2008 as Executive Director where he has utilized his business experience to make certain that Jerusalem House continues to operate as a highly efficient organization. This is evidenced by the fact that the organization has grown from 67 to the current 172 housing units while ensuring that nearly 92% of all funds raised go directly to fund the agency’s programs. As a member of the NAHC board Frew will leverage his experience at Jerusalem House to help shape the future focus of NAHC and to advocate for HIV/AIDS housing on a national level through governmental sources and other providers.
Commenting on his appointment to the NAHC board, Frew said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the NAHC Board and look forward to working with such a remarkable organization to advance the awareness and importance of permanent, stable housing for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. At Jerusalem House we have seen firsthand how overall health improves by simply providing a safe and comfortable place to live.”
