Superior Grocers and Its Foundation Donate $10,000 to Support Education in the City of Santa Fe Springs
Superior Grocers has awarded $10,000 to four schools in the City of Santa Fe Springs. Each of the schools received a $2,500 scholarship at the City's Council meeting held on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Superior Foundation will continue working with the local community in order to maintain its commitment and support of Education throughout Southern California.
Santa Fe Springs, CA, February 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Superior Grocers, one of Southern California’s largest independent supermarket chains, through its non-profit organization, Superior Foundation, has awarded $10,000 to four schools in the City of Santa Fe Springs. In collaboration with the Mayor of Santa Fe Springs, William Rounds, a presentation was made at its city council meeting held on Thursday, February 16, 2012.
The four schools selected by the Mayor’s office were awarded a scholarship of $2,500 each. The selected schools were Lake Center Middle School, Lakeview Elementary School, Rancho Santa Gertrudes Elementary School and Jersey Avenue Elementary School. As stated by Mayor Rounds, “Your support for the past 15 years and numerous financial contributions to our schools has greatly enriched the lives of many students and provided educational opportunities that would not have been possible without your support. We value the commitment that Superior Grocers has shown Santa Fe Springs and are proud to have you as a member of our community.”

Superior Foundation will continue working with the local community in order to maintain its commitment and support of Education throughout Southern California.
For the past 15 years, the Superior Foundation has raised over $2 million for many local elementary, high schools, and youth programs. Scholarships have been given to over 230 schools and non-profit organizations in Southern California.
