Mitegen Announces Continued Expansion of Product Lines and Offerings for Crystallographers
Mitegen LLC, a provider of innovative consumables for X-ray diffraction, crystallography and protein crystallization to academic, pharmaceutical, industrial and government researchers around the world, recently announced numerous expansions to both their patented product portfolio and to their line of distributed products.
Ithaca, NY, February 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Recent expansions to Mitegen products include:
MicroCrystal Mounts - Mitegen’s patented line of MicroMounts has been expanded to include the industry’s thinnest and most transparent mount ever. MicroCrystal Mounts by Mitegen are designed specifically for harvesting, visualizing, and performing X-Ray diffraction on samples less than 20 micrometers in size. Available in 12 designs, these mounts utilize Mitegen’s Dual Thickness technology and have a 10 micrometer thick body supporting a 3 micrometer thin membrane.
Angled Tip Mounts - Mitegen’s patented line of MicroMounts and MicroLoops for mounting crystals for X-Ray crystallography has been expanded to include the industry’s first mounts with an angled tip. Angled tips can now be ordered as an option on any Mitegen brand mount. By utilizing angled tip mounts, crystallographers can better align certain crystal types with the X-Ray beam, resulting in better data, reduce diffraction spot overlap, and decreased radiation damage.
Reusable bases in three more styles - Additionally Mitegen has expanded its line of patented reusable bases, bringing this convenience to a broader range of users. Reusable bases were previously available only in “B3-R” and “B3S-R”styles, which include a copper insert. For customers who prefer bases without a copper insert, reusable bases now are available in “B1-R” and “B1A-R” styles. Also available for the first time is a reusable based in a standard “B5-R” compatible with SPINE standard equipment.
“We continue to expand and improve our Mitegen brand product lines based on customer feedback and advancing manufacturing technologies,” according to Robert Newman, CEO of Mitegen. “We will continue to develop our portfolio of MiTeGen brand products and distributed products to meet customer needs.”
Mitegen also distributes select products from a number of high quality manufacturers. Most recently, Mitegen has expanded it’s offerings in a number of areas including:
· Dry shippers and refrigerators from Taylor Wharton
· Vibration free incubators from Torrey Pines Scientific
· Custom configured stereo microscopes for crystallographers from Zeiss
· Crystallization plates from XtalQuest
