Solamon Concludes Deal with SST in Sri Lanka; Partnership to Develop Huge Solar Project

Toronto, Canada, February 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- With the planned expansion into South East Asia, and Solamon engineers working tirelessly to fine-tune turnkey energy solutions designed specifically for the region to maximize power generation while minimizing environmental impact, the company is proud to announce it has recently concluded a deal with SST Services (Pte) Limited, a leading consultancy firm located in Sri Lanka who are now preparing the ground work for the implementation of another proposed mega solar project.

“We are extremely excited to be working alongside such eminent captains of industry as Mr Thusitha Wijayasena and Mr Manoj Jayamaha,” says Solamon Energy CEO Graeme Boyce. “Mr Wijayasena is the Chairman of Property Finance and Investments Kandy Ltd, a leading real estate development firm, and he is the main proponent.”

Mr Jayamaha is the Managing Director of SST Services and was the key person involved in bringing the project from its inception to its pre-implementation stage. He counts 15 years of experience in the IT and apparel industry in Sri Lanka, where he was involved in both HR and management positions. The biggest expansion has occurred in the energy, leisure and tourism sectors, while construction, finance and retailing have also shown remarkable growth.

“With energy prices steadily on the rise across the region, and an annual increase in demand of 8%, the need to rethink the current energy strategy across the quickly developing region is imperative,” says VP Thijs Boonen. “We are eager to meet with government regulators and utilities to unveil our findings, and to assist in the implementation of a green strategy to deliver 200MW of solar energy into the grid.”

Solamon Energy typically offers a ground-mounted solar array of integrated photovoltaic cells over a minimum 5 acre package of land, which is called the Apollo Acre™. The company now also designs and installs custom solutions with local partners to provide roof-mounted and parking lot systems that are easily augmented by micro wind turbine technology and other innovative features.
