Queens World Film Festival Announces Best LGBT Film Nominees

Short film "Slate" will be making its official East Coast Premiere on March 3rd, 2012 at 7:30pm playing in the LGBT Block — Sponsored by Queens Pride. Los Angeles, CA, February 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The 2nd Annual Queens World Film Festival announced its Best LGBT Film Nominees and short film Slate is in the running. Slate will be making its official East Coast Premiere on March 3rd, 2012 at 7:30pm playing in the LGBT Block — Sponsored by Queens Pride. Previously, Slate was an official selection at both The Oregon Queer Film Festival (February 10th, 2012) and The 10th Annual San Diego Black Film Festival (January 29th, 2012) where it garnered its 2nd Nomination in the Best LGBT Film category.

Summary: Slate, is a story about a male hustler (Slate) who finds himself under the control of a lazy overbearing pimp (Terrence) who abuses him every chance he gets. Feeling lost, alone, and unloved, Slate's fortune changes when he meets Johnny. The two quickly form a friendship that flourishes into something more. When Terrence finds out of this relationship and goes after Johnny, Slate feels like he has no choice, but to take matters into his own hands.
