American Soap Opera Heads to Internet
An American company has announced that it will be broadcasting the soap opera "As the World Turns" to viewers in South Africa over the internet.
New York, NY, February 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Broadway Video Digital Media today announced that it will begin broadcasting the soap opera “As the World Turns” over the internet to viewers in South Africa. The much-loved soap opera, which has been cancelled by South African TV, will continue on the internet exactly where it leaves off on TV, so South African viewers won’t miss an episode.
The American company, Broadway Video Digital Media, already distributes “As the World Turns” on DVD and the internet throughout the world.
Company President Mark Yates commented: “Different countries are at different points in the story. Although 'As the World Turns' has concluded in the US, it still has three years to go in South Africa. Much-loved characters like Carly, Lilly, Jack, Holden and Luke will live on for South African viewers, and there are still plenty of fun plots twists and cliffhangers to come.”
Yates continued: “One of the great things about streaming the show on the internet is that people can watch the show whenever it’s convenient. We’ll be releasing five new episodes every Monday, and fans will be able to watch the episodes anytime, at their own pace, all week.”
The South African internet broadcast begins Tuesday, February 28. Although the program is aimed primarily at South Africa, viewers from anywhere in the world can also watch on the internet.
Viewers can register to watch at www.worldturns.nl. More information about SoapClassics is available at www.SoapClassics.com. More information about Broadway Video Digital Media is available at www.bvdigitalmedia.com.
