Nationwide Screening of "Default: The Student Loan Documentary" from Krotala Films Wednesday, February 29th
As part of the Student Debt Week of Action, over 50 colleges nationwide wide will be screening Default: The Student Loan Documentary this Wednesday February 29th.
San Francisco, CA, February 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) and United States Students Association (USSA) have organized a nationwide screening of Default: The Student Loan Documentary on over 50 campuses on Wednesday February 29th as part of the week-long “Student Debt Week of Action.” The documentary that has brought the issue of student debt to the forefront of the national discourse is currently being aired nationally on PBS and public broadcasting stations. Filmed by San Francisco-based filmmakers, Serge Bakalian and Aurora Meneghello, Default has also been screening across the country at college campuses and national conferences, and in the past year has helped ignite a national movement around the issue of student debt. It has received national attention with exposure in The Nation, Forbes, AlterNet, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Salon, The Norman Goldman Show, Ring of Fire Radio, NPR's All Things Considered, The Leslie Marshall Show, Fast Company and many others.

To make matters worse, at least 1 out of 5 students currently default on their loans, resulting in devastating consequences, including: exorbitant fees and penalties, exploding and usurious interest rates, destroyed credit ratings, possible suspension of driver’s licenses, possible suspension of professional licenses, and more.
