Youth Artists to Debut Artwork in New York's Big Screen Plaza

Young students from around the U.S. will showcase their artwork in New York City's Big Screen Plaza on March 2-3 from 5-8pm. The 3 hour slideshow, created by Artsonia, the world's largest online student art museum is part of the National Art Education Association's annual convention, being held in New York. Last year, families flew in from various states to enjoy the unique opportunity to see their child's artwork displayed in such a spectacular venue.

New York, NY, February 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Students from around the country will have a unique opportunity to share their artwork on a very public platform on Friday March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd from 5-8pm EST.

As part of the National Art Education Association's Annual Conference, Artsonia, the world's largest online student art gallery, has created a slideshow featuring approximately 500 pieces of student artwork from around the U.S. Each 20 second slide will feature the student's artwork as well as the artist's personal statement on the piece. This 3 hour slideshow will be shown on a 30'x 16' LED screen in the Big Screen Plaza, just steps from Time Square on New York City's 6th Ave between 29th & 30th Streets. This is the second year that Artsonia has worked with the Big Screen Plaza (www.BigScreenPlaza.com), an initiative promoting art, culture and entertainment in a public venue.

Teachers encourage the students and families to attend, if possible. Art teacher Suzanne Tiedemann commented on the excitement from last year saying, "I met four of my students and their families in NYC to view their artwork on the big screen in the Big Screen Project! It was so Awesome! The looks on everyone's faces was priceless when they saw the work appear on the screen. Thank you so much for putting so much time into preparing the fabulous slideshow and for allowing my students to participate in this extraordinary opportunity to showcase their artwork! It was something that they and I will never forget!" Representatives from Artsonia will be on site during the slideshow screening to help teachers and families know when they can expect to see their artwork.*

Headquartered in Gurnee, Ill., Artsonia was established in 2000 as an online kid's art museum providing free, educational resources for kids, families and schools to create art projects. Since its inception, Artsonia continues to integrate technology in the classroom, develop multi-cultural understanding through art and increase family involvement in children's education.
