It’s Dangerous to be Her Friend: Wally Wander Published by Outskirts Press
NovaMelia’s newest fiction brings her readers into a world of unusual perceptions and extra dimensions as Wally puzzles her way through – and, she hopes, out of -- the scramble of good intentions gone wrong which her life seems to have become.
Tucson, AZ, February 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Veteran author NovaMelia announced today the release of her latest novel, Wally Wander, published by Outskirts Press. A tale of love and trust, despair and futility, and ultimately of the glee of reality, NovaMelia’s new work portrays the search by a young girl of the good she hopes is within her after she discovers that being her friend can be dangerous to one’s health.
When NovaMelia’s heroine Wally is young, she finds that being her friend can be fatal, and that deadly contamination of hers seems to follow her throughout life. To escape she begins spending more and more time living elsewhere, upstairs in her mind, and she learns how to wander into and out of her own space bubble, which floats somewhere just below the space of God.
Sometimes Wally receives puzzling signals while there. She learns from her mother, for instance, that she may be turning into a cabbage. From her sister-in-law she hears that her brother not only works in a black hole, he might even own one.
Wally comes down from her space bubble from time to time to see if things have changed, but her physicist brother has told her that time itself is another dimension and she’ll need to first move into that dimension if she wishes to go back and change what has happened.
Only Wally’s favorite nephew, Nigel, is of solace to her, and she comes to believe that one day he will be able to rescue her from where her family have placed her. She tells Nigel that music is the true magic of life, but he does not believe her until he sees it for himself and witnesses the magic as it happens.
Wally Wander is a story that takes readers to the point where hope is almost gone, and then, when it is least expected, offers the pure joy of finally hearing the magic words.
