March’s LAPPG Features Solutions for Editors and an Inaugural Member Showcase

The Los Angeles Post Production Group is pleased to welcome author, editor and educator, John Rosenberg to present "Triage in the Editing Room" on March 14th at 7pm. He will examine emergency procedures for curing story, character, structure and pacing problems. In addition, the LAPPG will be hosting their first ever Member Showcase. This monthly meeting will be held at the Showbiz Store & Cafe and is open to anyone with an interest in filmmaking, post production and content creation.

Los Angeles, CA, February 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Ever get stumped while editing projects, unclear on how to fix story, character, structure or pacing issues? Author, editor and educator, John Rosenberg will share several of his editing “cures” in his presentation, “Triage in the Editing Room” at the March 14th Los Angeles Post Production Group meeting.

This LAPPG meeting will look at the vital techniques every editor should have in his or her arsenal to overcome problems and facilitate creative storytelling. Based on his successful book, The Healthy Edit: Creative Editing Techniques for Perfecting Your Movie (Focal Press, 2011), Rosenberg will present an application-agnostic approach to specific solutions that editors can employ to nurse a sick project back health.

With over two dozen feature films that he’s edited for such companies as 20th Century Fox, Lorimar, New Line and Artisan and hours of documentaries and reality-based television shows for HBO, PBS, Showtime, Nat Geo among many others, John was the perfect choice for this meeting. He draws on his extensive experience and background to help guide editors on the exciting journey of cutting a story together.

The LAPPG is also thrilled to be hosting their inaugural Member Showcase that night where several Los Angeles Post Production Group members will have the opportunity to share their work and answer questions with fellow members and industry peers.

As the group nears its 4th anniversary, founder and moderator, Woody Woodhall explains, “We see so many people month after month who come and share their stories, job leads, tips and techniques but we don’t often get to see each other’s work. We decided to dedicate part of this evening to recognize the tremendous talent, creativity, expertise and skill within the LAPPG community. I’m excited to be able to share some of our members’ work, members who have been with us each month for the last several years.”

LAPPG meetings are open to anyone with an interest in digital filmmaking, content creation and the post production finishing processes. This next meeting will be held on March 14th at 7pm at the Showbiz Store & Café at 500 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90049.

A $5.00 entrance fee is kindly requested and as always there will be the opportunity to network with some of Los Angeles’ premiere post production professionals as well as the chance to win amazing door prizes including several full program installs.
