Beynon Sports Resurfaces Cornell University
Cornell turns to Beynon and Nagle Athletic Surfaces to resurface their running track.
Hunt Valley, MD, March 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When the Big Red men’s and women’s track and field teams take to the William E. Simon outdoor running track at the Robert J. Kane Sports Complex this year they are going to feel a noticeable spring in their step. Nagle Athletic Surfaces has just recently completed re-topping the William E. Simon outdoor running track with Beynon Sports BSS 300 embedded running surface.
The original running surface at Cornell was installed in 1996, and while the track did hold up well over the years it had begun to show its age. Testing showed that after nine (9) random tests the force reduction level of the surface was about 35% which was at the bottom of the IAAF certification range of 35% to 50%. The lower the number the harder your surface, which makes it difficult for training and can lead to an increased incidence of injuries.
Nagle Athletic Surfaces worked tirelessly to ensure that the force reduction level of the track surface would be an ideal consistency for both daily training and competition and the end result after nine (9) random tests was a force reduction level of 41%.
“William E. Simon outdoor track posed numerous challenges within a tight time-frame for completing the re-topping." - Paul C. Nagle, President, Nagle Athletic Surfaces. “We take great pride in our work and will do whatever is necessary to ensure the job is done on time, within budget and to the level of quality that exceeds what our client desires.”
“The installation crew from Nagle Athletic Surfaces was professional, courteous, and respectful at all times and made every effort to complete the work on time while paying attention to detail and delivering a quality job.” - Stephen P. Erber, Associate Director of Athletics, Cornell University.
The 2012 Cornell Spring Invitational will be held on Saturday, April 7th, 2012 at Cornell’s Robert J. Kane Sports Complex The meet will include a variety of relays, open Distance, and sprint events as well as a full complement of field events.
