Xsilon Announces Availability of First HANADU In-Home M2M Connectivity Evaluation Kit
Barcelona, Spain, March 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Xsilon, the leading In-Home M2M connectivity developer, is readying its HANADU Connectivity Evaluation Kit for shipment to customers in early Q3. The HAN9000 CEK will enable M2M solution developers, hardware vendors and service providers to validate the Whole Home, Every Home connectivity that Xsilon’s HANADU technology offers.
The HAN9000 CEK uses a modular design to accommodate the varying needs of different customers. Available single or in pairs, the CEK allows HANADU connectivity technology to be evaluated within real-world homes, validating the strength of the communications reach to any part of the building. Each CEK unit is approx. 27cm by 13cm in area, which encompasses all the network interface technology, power supplies and data processing modules. Accompanying software allows connection throughput and link integrity to be logged, monitored and analysed. The CEK can operate in a simple point-to-point Virtual Wire mode, or in a dynamic anypoint-to-anypoint Ad Hoc Network mode.
Xsilon is offering the HAN9000 CEK to vendors and service providers who are looking to deploy M2M services into the home environment, where existing communications technologies have failed to create a major footprint due to their poor connectivity within domestic premises. Early applications will include home energy management solutions, smart meter connectivity and telemedicine services. These applications will be addressed by Xsilon’s first connectivity product, the HAN1250 module which will launch in 2013. The HAN1250 will be available as pre-assembled modules for direct incorporation into OEM solutions, and as a reference design for tight integration into vendors’ products. Other products on the HANADU roadmap will address additional functionality, multi-mode connectivity and tighter integration with targeted host systems.
Mike Baker, CEO of Xsilon, said “Everyone here at Xsilon is excited and proud that we can now announce the details of our product roadmap, including the availability of our first product which comes out in just a few months’ time. The HAN9000 CEK will showcase the unique and compelling capabilities of our HANADU connectivity for In-Home M2M solutions.”
About Xsilon Ltd:
Xsilon has developed the first connectivity technology for ubiquitous In-Home M2M. At present, standard M2M services struggle to reach devices located inside residential premises, due to the poor propagation of wireless technologies inside buildings and within a cluttered domestic environment. Xsilon’s patented HANADU technology delivers low cost, small footprint, low power, high connectivity M2M capability to all appliances within every home.
Founded in 2009, Xsilon is a privately-funded company headquartered in the UK. Its core team leverages over 200 man-years of experience of communications technology and product development with leading US and European businesses.
About HANADU™:
Uniquely for an in-home connectivity solution, HANADU is a cleansheet design; it is targeted to deliver four-nines connection rates to devices wherever they are in the home, whichever home they are in. Avoiding the inevitable compromises of legacy solutions, it is the first Whole Home, Every Home™ solution for In-Home M2M. HANADU supports mainstream networking standards such as IPv6, 6LowPAN, Weightless, Home Automation Profile 1.1 and Smart Energy Profile 2.0. By design, HANADU is compatible with all other in-home connectivity solutions, wired and wireless.
First applications of Xsilon’s ground breaking HANADU technology include Home Energy Management solutions and Domestic Telemedicine deployments. HANADU can work as the sole connectivity solution within a home, or with complementary wireless or wired solutions. Xsilon’s HANADU product roadmap includes dual-mode solutions such as joint HANADU/ZigBee offerings.
