AllCirc-Cube: A New Paradigm in Optical Media Self-Service
Somerdale, NJ, March 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A Low-Cost Compact Book Self-Checkout and Media Dispensing System All-In-One
Library Automation Technologies, Inc. (LAT), a leader in library automation products, is pleased to announce the release of the next generation model of its popular allCIRC™ product line, the allCIRC-CUBE™. The allCIRC-CUBE™ combines 100% media theft security with complete load/unload patron self-service and a full-featured book self-check in one small portable footprint with even greater capacity, significantly faster throughput, and much lower cost than its predecessors.
Building on knowledge and feedback of a number of existing installations throughout the country, allCIRC-CUBE™ further pushes the self-service capabilities envelope by creating a one-stop “do-it-all” patron station circulating all materials in the library. “It is like a patron empowered circ-desk in a box,” commented Mandi Bottle, a university librarian and a Barnes & Noble store manager.
ADA compliant to most stringent CalDag requirements, the allCIRC-Cube™ provides secure CD/DVD/BluRay media dispensing/loading and a complete book self-check all in one ultra-compact, ultra-fast system. With numerous available options such as EM Desensitization, RFID, Media Case Unlocking, Digital Signage, Integration with LAT-Stena™ and more, the allCIRC-CUBE™ delivers unprecedented value to the library.
“Libraries’ requirements for speed, reliability, and elegance, as well as patrons’ needs for ease of use, speed, and convenience, were the paramount factors that drove the design of our latest allCIRC-CUBE™ model. In our approach to self-service we have created a fully ADA compliant system that not only eliminates the need for libraries to spend money on security, but offers this state of the art technology to libraries at a much lower cost of entry than before,” commented Oleg Boyarsky, President and CEO of LAT. “In this current thrift-driven economy allCIRC-Cube™ provides an unprecedented value proposition for libraries because it eliminates the need to spend already limited resources for additional media security and handling, while simultaneously providing 100% theft protection for the most prized media collections.”
The size of a small desk, allCIRC-CUBE™ measures 38”x27”x34” and offers a flexible component placement, so that the library can position the machine in any orientation and still have a completely ergonomically pleasing environment. The system comes with a Meganite® top (included) providing long life durability and visually pleasant convenient surface for patron’s use.
Costing less than a typical book self-check, allCIRC-Cube™ will be exhibited at the PLA Conference in Philadelphia, PA at the LAT’s booth #: 2427
