Miriello Grafico Renovates Warehouse in Barrio Logan
San Diego, CA, May 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Miriello Grafico Inc. (MGI), a graphic design and strategic marketing firm specializing in business communications, today announced that it has completed the renovation of a warehouse in Barrio Logan. Named, “The Logan”, it will be the new corporate headquarters for MGI with the additional space available for lease.
“After fifteen years in the Marina district of downtown, we needed to expand and parking in center city was becoming a growing issue. And we didn’t want to abandon an area we helped pioneer,” said Ron Miriello, founder and creative director of Miriello Grafico. “The more I looked at the Barrio, the more I saw its potential as a great place to put down new roots. I saw a solid and rich community culture and history, easy access, and a growing group of risk-taking creatives who see the vision.”
MGI envisions The Logan as a creative center. The firm will occupy a large portion of the building as its anchor tenant and will lease out the balance of approximately 8,000 square feet. This will be an ideal office location for architects, designers, engineers, showrooms or gallery space – with 20 foot ceiling heights, secured parking and easy freeway access.
"For more than a quarter of a century, residents of Barrio Logan have been working diligently to reclaim their neighborhood as a vibrant place to live, work and shop," said Councilman Ben Hueso. "The addition of well-established businesses like Miriello Grafico shows continuing respect for our local culture while contributing creative vitality that further diversifies our unique community."
MGI is not the only one that has been drawn to the Barrio. Graham Downes Architecture Inc., known for providing innovative solutions for retail, hospitality, entertainment and urban mixed-use projects, is headquartered in the Barrio. In 2004, it completed the development of Barriohaus, the adaptive re-use of former warehouse (see www.blokhausdevelopment.com). Paul Basile and Linda Karp recently opened The Guild Restaurant (see www.theguildrestaurant.com), which offers eclectic contemporary cuisine and an interior crafted by Basile himself in his attached fabrication studio. Chef Melissa Mayer has been equally creative with the menu and presentation.
The Logan’s renovation was directed by Jonathan Segal FAIA (see www.jonathansegalarchitect.com), construction was managed by Raley General Contracting, and interior design support was provided by DNA European Design (see www.dnaeuropeandesign.com).
