William Peace University Names Brittany Tryon Resident Director
Four-Year Baccalaureate University Hires Graduate to Serve Students Living on Campus
Raleigh, NC, March 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Brittany Tryon has been named resident director, where she will be responsible for managing a staff of 14 resident assistants, serving on call for campus emergencies, participating in campus committees, helping create a campus environment that promotes academic excellence and student involvement, maintaining the residence halls by accurately preparing all necessary reports, records and requests, and conducting judicial hearings as necessary. A 2011 graduate, Tryon previously served as a student worker in the Residence Life office and held several student leadership roles, including peer educator, senior class co-president and resident assistant, which provided her with the experiences that helped develop her passion for working in Student Affairs. In addition, Tryon will serve as the assistant coach for the university’s tennis team.
Quotes:
“There is no typical day in the life of a resident director, which is one the most appealing components of my new position,” said Tryon. “I love being part of William Peace University, and I am happy to contribute to its success by meeting the needs of all of our students on campus.”
“Retaining a top graduate such as Brittany is always a testament to both the educational and student life experience we offer,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “Brittany knows from first-hand experience what Residence Life requires of everyone and is ready to make the hard decisions that sometimes occur in the position, but will also strive to provide residents with an experience as outstanding as the one she had as a student here herself.”
