Murrieta Debut Novelist, Lia Fairchild, Strikes Book Chart Top Spot
Murrieta, CA, March 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A debut novel penned by a mother of two from California, has shot straight to the top of one of the Amazon book charts within a week of its release.
Lia Fairchild, 42, from Riverside County was inspired to write her romantic drama, In Search of Lucy, after struggling to find her own identity.
Lia initially self-published the book on Amazon Kindle and scored numerous five-star reviews. It was described by readers as "…achingly moving in places and wickedly funny in others." Another reviewer wrote, "What an inspiring, uplifting book."
Within months of its first appearance, In Search of Lucy was spotted by scouts at Amazon's newly formed AmazonEncore imprint who snapped it up for release in paperback complete with a newly designed cover.
Lia is married to her high-school sweetheart and will celebrate twenty years of marriage this year. The couple have two children, aged 14 and 12. She's a life-long inhabitant of California with a background in journalism, public relations, advertising and education.
Lia says she's always been creative but has only put pen to paper seriously in the last few years. "I'm astonished and delighted that people have taken Lucy to their hearts. I identify with her story completely and so, it seems, do many others, both men and women. I wrote it from the heart – it's one woman’s journey to move beyond her past and find happiness."
Lia works tirelessly to promote her book online and has also since penned several short stories and a mystery series that are all available as ebooks. She's now well on the way to making writing a career – something so many others can only dream about.
