Furman Brothers Reveal Secrets of Success in Real Estate
St. Davids, PA, March 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Although national homes sales are low and the average home is staying on the market for three months or more, a local pair of brothers, that are two of the few in the nation who have developed a proven system to successfully sell homes and properties, even during economically hard times. In fact the brothers, Brett and Scott Furman, were recently presented awards by RE/MAX International for their accomplishments. Scott Furman has been ranked as No. 7 in the state of Pennsylvania out of 2,825 agents, while Brett was awarded membership into the RE/MAX Platinum Club for helping 41 families invest in the American dream of home ownership in 2011. This was a 14 percent increase over the prior year for him.
The brothers established RE/MAX Classic 22 years ago with the goal of making the agents in the firm more productive. “The proof is in the pudding,” Brett Furman stressed. “RE/MAX Classic has the highest productivity per agent as reported by the Philadelphia Business Journal. We average 15.9 transactions per agent while the next non RE/MAX Company averages seven transactions per agent.”
The strategy of RE/MAX Classic, Brett Furman said, is clearly working. The first goal, he said, has been agent productivity and the strategy has always been to invest heavily in technology. “Most real estate companies keep technology and telephone systems until they stop working,” said Scott Furman. “None of our competitors have the horse power that we have.” “I just purchased an Apple tablet and Android device that needed to be connected to the server so I knew it was time for a change,” said Brett Furman. “The benefit of having broker/owners also list and sell real estate is that the owners realize the need to have the best technology.”
The brothers credit another reason for their success is the Furman Home Selling System and the Easy Exit option that they offer. “It’s a modern gentleman’s agreement that allows customers to sever their contract with them at any time in the home sale or purchase process,” said Brett Furman. The Furman’s Home Selling System has produced some of the best results in the real estate industry. Customer Don Eyer is proof that the brothers’ investment in new technology and their selling systems work. “Brett Furman listed my house on Friday night and I had a full price signed contract the following Wednesday,” Eyer said of realtor Furman, who sold Eyer’s home in five days for 98 percent of list to sale price.
Even though the Furman brothers have experienced a lot of success, they’re already looking at ways to provide their clients with faster service and more results by adding additional technology. “We are replacing our existing server with multiple redundant devices, upgrading all the network software, changing the email server, and obtaining a new backup server with offsite data storage,” Brett Furman said. “It’s hard to believe that our growth is requiring that we change everything that is only a couple years old, with faster and newer technology. The new server will be able to handle connections from tablets, many cell devices like droids and Apple products.”
Brett Furman added that they are also upgrading their contact management software which its office uses to track clients, hold data from transactions, and organize contact information. “The new server will provide a faster connection to allow for quicker upload and download speeds with faster voice channels to carry our telephone traffic,” Brett Furman explained. “It will also enable remote connections at super fast speed. The departments that will benefit from the changes are the desk top publishing division, accounting division and sales.”
The Furmans have worked in the real estate industry for a combined 58 years, helping over 1600 families on the Main Line and around the Philadelphia area purchase and sell their homes. They believe that with its new technological upgrades that they’ll be able to help even more clients.
The brothers and their firm actively support The Flora Furman Memorial Fund of the American Cancer Society, created in memory of the Furmans’ mother, a local substitute teacher who lost her life to cancer in 2000 and The Harold B. Furman Memorial Fund of the ALS Hope Foundation, created in memory of the Furmans’ father, who was a pediatrician in the Wayne community for 37 years and school doctor. He lost his life in 1994 after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
