Seeds Community Center Rivals Big Brothers Big Sisters Heart GA for Recycling Title
National Fundraising-by-Recycling Program Sponsors Eco-friendly Contest
Tucson, AZ, March 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Seeds Community Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters Heart GA, Macon, GA are facing off in a recycling duel March 13-May 31, 2012. These organizations participate in the national fundraising-by-recycling program FundingFactory and opted to participate in the friendly competition, “Recycling Rumble.” The winning organization will earn a 25 percent fundraising bonus, and the top recycler among all nationwide match-ups will win an Apple iPad.
Seeds Community Center is a local, faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to serving the city of Tucson through partnering in the areas of education, family life, the creative arts, and sustainable living. In 2012, Seeds Community Center has already raised nearly $150 in cash and rewards by recycling empty laser and inkjet cartridges, used cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, GPS devices, and digital cameras with FundingFactory. FundingFactory matched the organizations according to their comparable recycling rate.
“Nothing prompts action like good, old-fashioned competition,” said Sean Michaels, co-president of FundingFactory. “Recycling Rumble is a fun, earth-friendly way to get the whole community involved in recycling and raising money for the organization. The organizations benefit from extra funding, and in the end everyone wins by saving our planet.”
Community members and local businesses are encouraged to get involved in the Recycling Rumble by dropping off used ink and laser cartridges and small electronics at Peter Howell Elementary School, 401 N Irving Ave (SE of Alvernon & 5th) in Tucson thru May 31. Interested companies can sign up as a Business Supporter for free at FundingFactory.com and Seeds Community Center will continue to receive the value of their recyclables long after Recycling Rumble ends.
