DynCorp International Aviation Employees Honored at 8th Annual MXG Awards Luncheon at Andrews Air Force Base

Falls Church, VA, March 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The 89th Airlift Wing Maintenance Group (MXG) stationed at Andrews Air Force Base (AFB) presented awards to three DynCorp International employees at their 8th Annual Awards Luncheon on January 13, 2012.

The annual luncheon is held to recognize those working with MXG who perform their duties in exceptional ways, and the winners from DynCorp International were honored for their exemplary service.

· “Fixed Wing” Aircraft Mechanic of the Year: Vincent Rogers, a DI team member who supports the AFB Aircraft Branch Inspection Dock Section. Rogers also received a Special Air Missions (SAM) – Foreign (FOX) award for mission commitment and dedication.

· “Rotary Wing” Aircraft Mechanic of the Year: Joseph Mello, an aircraft mechanic working for DI’s International Andrews Support Division Helicopter Maintenance Branch. Mello’s performance, professionalism and expertise help keep the older aircraft of this squadron flying to complete their sensitive missions. Mello is also a SAM-FOX award winner.

· Maintenance Technician of the Year: Cecil A. Burton, a member of the DynCorp International/Andrews Support Division Fuels Work Center, which maintains The Presidential Airlift Group (PAG), the 89th Airlift Wing and its maintenance group. Burton’s attention to detail and fast turnaround continually exceed contractual mission requirements, making him a valued member of SAM-FOX.

The organizational- and intermediate-level aircraft maintenance performed by DI employees keeps the 89th Wing in a constant state of readiness for all missions. Along with maintenance, DI also provides base supply and fuel services for the tenants and transient aircraft working out of Andrews AFB.
