Legacy of Song Presentation at the Auburn Library
Lyrical History of Fisk University and The Jubilee Singers
Atlanta, GA, November 08, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The Atlanta Fisk Club will be sponsoring a program entitled a "Legacy of Song" on November 19, 2005 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Auburn Avenue Research Library Research On African American Culture and History which is located at 101 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303.
This event event is being held to commemorate the legacy of the Fisk Jubilee Singers and to present the history of the University and the local, national and international accomplishments of the singers to the community.
The program will include a presentation by a prominent Fiskite and a video presentation of the history of the Fisk Jubilee Singers and the long standing tradition of service rendered to the institution and the community at large.
An exhibit of Jubilee Singer and Fisk University artifacts from various eras will be on display.
Additional upcoming events include the Second Annual Fisk Winter Scholarship Extravaganza Gala which will be held on December 3, 2005 at 6:00 pm. The gala will be take place at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel Atlanta Airport, 1900 Sullivan Road, College Park GA. Please contact the hotel at 770-997-1100 for additional information. The program will feature the world renowned Dove Award Winning and Grammy nominated Fisk Jubilee Singers.
We invite all former Jubilee singers and the community at large to join us in celebrating the lyrical history of one of America's most prominent universities which was also noted as one of the countries "hottest" Historically Black Universities by Newsweek in September 2005.
