A local non-profit is seeking Greater Lansing-area small businesses to network with local job seekers at their March 29th event in Okemos.
Pink Slip Mid-Michigan, a program operated by Meridian Christian Community Ministries (MCCM), provides interactive networking opportunities for businesses and job seekers. The March 29 event will provide workshops and networking opportunities for participants. The workshops include Power Resume, Transferrable Skills Analysis, Mock Interviews and a keynote address by John Hill from LinkedIn on “Marketing You Through Social Media.”
There are currently tens of thousands of available jobs in Michigan. Many human resource professionals have difficulty wading through the vast numbers of applications they can receive for just one position. "The most valuable resource a small business has is its people. Economic success depends on finding the right workers," notes Chris Holman, owner of The Greater Lansing Business Monthly.
The Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) and other area organizations will be on hand to provide resources and support to attendees. Addressing workforce and talent gaps is a large component of PCF's service portfolio.
The free event begins at 4:45 pm through 8:00 pm and takes place at Meridian Christian Church in Okemos. Interested participants are encouraged to pre-register at http://www.pinkslipmidmichigan.org.
