Robert Macia Named President of Stewart Engineering
Chief Operating Officer to Lead Raleigh-Based Engineering Firm
Raleigh, NC, March 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Willy Stewart, PE, CEO of Stewart Engineering, (http://www.stewart-eng.com) has announced that Robert Macia, PE, LEED AP, has been named President of the company.
Based in Raleigh, Stewart Engineering provides engineering, technical and design services in the areas of structural, civil, geotechnical and transportation engineering, landscape architecture, surveying, construction services and greenway design. As President, Macia will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm and will continue to execute its strategic growth plans while expanding and building upon the services that Stewart Engineering offers to its clients. He will continue to manage the firm’s technical departments in his role as Chief Operating Officer.
Macia joined Stewart Engineering in 2000 as a structural project manager and became the company’s Chief Operating Officer in 2010. Over his 18-year career, Macia has developed an expertise in structural engineering design for complex buildings in the public, higher education, healthcare and corporate markets. He has been honored with two Engineering Excellence Grand Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina for his work on the University of North Carolina Ram’s Head Center and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Terminal 2. Other key projects include the NC State University Hunt Library in Raleigh, the corporate headquarters tower for Quintiles in Durham, and the North Carolina Cancer Hospital in Chapel Hill.
