DoD, VA, and Federal Healthcare Leaders to Discuss iEHR Progression and Important Strategies for Successful Data Sharing and Interoperability
The recent efforts of the DoD and VA’s towards progressing an iEHR, along with further steps towards a VLER and a national HIE has created the need to bring together thought leaders and experts in this space to discuss and debate how all can achieve success in their respective arenas. However, what “success” means for each, and how the industry experts helping them achieve these goals remains a pressing and challenging question to answer.
Washington, DC, March 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Defense Strategies Institute (DSI) brought together senior leadership in October 2011 to look at the iEHR architectural roadmap that was released last spring, and now they are answering the call of “How to achieve success across domain data sharing and the iEHR while working towards clinically relevant, technically feasible, and financially viable innovations.” On May 14- 15, 2012, at the Mary M. Gates Learning Center in Alexandria, VA, DSI will bring together those working the issues most challenging subjects such as:

“In a field such as healthcare, where there are multiple agents acting in tandem, it is extremely important that all involved are working towards a cohesive and holistic approach. While the field has seen an immense amount of ebbing and flowing as of late, we believe that truly great advancements are on the horizon...and this is why our Senior Partners decided to lend our expertise towards creating a forum that can bring together stakeholders across the continuum of care,” stated Lisa Madison, Director of Communications for Defense Strategies Institute.
“Our educational and training Summits offer a non-partisan, informal forum where we encourage real, actionable, discussion and debate. This is a chance for the experts in the field to really roll their sleeves up and talk about their unique and shared perspectives with their respective colleagues,” Ms. Madison further stated.
Defense Strategies Institute, a new organization on the scene, has raised the bar for convening public Summits such as their upcoming May gathering. Their strategy of really focusing on the most pressing, and often difficult subject matter, brings true value to all. DSI also has broken the mold of traditional “Summit/Conference Organizations.” Recognizing the great sacrifice that our men and women of our Military Services have endured, their summits benefit the non profit 501c3 Wounded Warrior Project through their personal financial donations to the WWP.
