Presque Isle Downs & Casino to Host St Jude Country Music Radio-Thon
Erie, PA, March 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs & Casino and Country 98 WXTA will host a Country Music Radio-thon Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, March 23rd in benefit of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
"The money raised from the Country Music Marathon will have a tremendous impact on the lives of children. It will pay for blood transfusions, chemotherapies, and for research that could one day find a cure for cancer," said Mike Tamburelli, Presque Isle Downs & Casino General Manager.
Country 98 WXTA will be broadcasting live in the casino Clubhouse in support of this event.
The casino will be donating $30 Free Play vouchers to the first 100 "Partners in Hope." A "Partner in Hope" is anyone who donates $20 or more per month for a year. Country music artist Chris Higbee will be playing a concert Friday night that all people who donate more than $240 will be invited to attend for free.
“If you donate $240 or more you are designated a ‘Partner in Hope,’” said Tamburelli. “This will entitle you to a free Chris Higbee VIP party and concert and a chance to meet Chris before the show.”
The concert is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. All donations will be accepted on the second floor of the casino in the Clubhouse at the "Wishing Wells." The general public is invited to attend.
There will also be an auction of autographed items from Country Music’s biggest stars on the first floor of the casino in the elevator lobby.
Some of the items for auction include: a Mother of Pearl Autographed Xtone LTD Guitar signed by Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, The Band Perry, Eric Church, Rodney Atkins, Montgomery Gentry, Justin Moore, Loretta Lynn, and Neal McCoy from World of Music, a framed/autographed Taylor Swift picture and a Country 98 Hat Autographed by Rascal Flatts.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit St. Jude’s.
“We are really looking to make an impact so I want to encourage everyone to come out and show their support for St. Jude’s,” said Tamburelli. “On behalf of the casino I am going to become a ‘Partner In Hope’ and contribute the first $240 to the organization.”
