World T.E.A.M. Sports announces the appointment of New York financial services executive Paul Tyler as the non-profit's new CEO and President. Tyler follows Ambassador Paul Bremer, who is retiring from the organization to teach.
Holbrook, NY, March 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- World T.E.A.M. Sports, a 20 year old not-for-profit sports management company, announced today the appointment of Paul Tyler as the organization’s fifth CEO and President. Tyler follows the retirement of Ambassador Paul Bremer, who joined World T.E.A.M. Sports as CEO and President in November, 2010.
“Our organization owes much to Paul Bremer,” said World T.E.A.M. Sports Chairman James Benson. “His exemplary efforts to expand recognition and increase participation in our inclusive World T.E.A.M. Sports events have been greatly beneficial to our long-term goals.”
During his tenure, Ambassador Bremer expanded the reach of the organization through creating new events such as the Adventure Teen Challenge and Family Day Out in Washington, and the Soldiers to the Summit at Snowbird event for wounded warriors. With business and media contacts established through 40 years of public and private service, Bremer helped elevate public awareness of the organization and of the challenges the disabled face in today’s world. Bremer also participated in several events, including the Face of America ride from Washington to Gettysburg and Colorado’s Adventure TEAM Challenge.
Tyler, a New York financial service executive who is an experienced triathlete and writer, brings to World T.E.A.M. Sports an extensive background in creating partnerships and building collaboration. A past Face of America ride participant, Tyler was recruited to manage the organization following Bremer’s retirement. “Paul Tyler is an experienced and talented business leader who has produced positive changes through his strong vision for success,” said Benson. “He is the leader we need to continue growth in our organization in the coming years.”
Following 13 years with MetLife, Tyler left the corporation to start 1837 Media, a digital media marketing and communications company. Tyler also recently launched TriEssential, a website and iPhone application that provides training tips, news and information for active triathletes.
“I am excited to join World T.E.A.M. Sports,” said Tyler. “As an athlete, I understand the benefits of teamwork and cooperation. This organization has an impressive history of creating inclusive events for disabled individuals. I can help reach additional disabled athletes and wounded warriors through building our events and identifying new opportunities.”
In 2012, World T.E.A.M. Sports is hosting several high-profile sporting events, beginning with the recent Soldiers to the Summit at Snowbird, Utah. The Face of America bicycle ride from Washington to Gettysburg in late April, the Adventure TEAM Challenge in western Colorado and the Sea to Shining Sea cross-country bicycle ride from San Francisco to Virginia Beach this summer follow.
“I am leaving World T.E.A.M. Sports in good hands,” said Bremer, who is teaching a collegiate course this spring. “Paul Tyler will be good for this organization in the coming years.”
