CENTURY 21 Thomas Lights the Way to Energy Savings

Myrtle Beach, SC, March 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Century 21 Thomas is taking a leadership role in helping its customers reduce the use of energy. In its role as a property manager, Century 21 Thomas has worked with Santee Cooper to distribute energy-efficient CFL bulbs to its customers who have not participated in past Santee Cooper CFL promotions.

This effort translates into reduced cost of ownership for participating Century 21 Thomas property owners and results in substantial, certifiable, long-term energy savings for Santee Cooper.

“With the costs for property maintenance continually on the rise, it’s nice to be able to show our customers a free way to actually lower the cost of property ownership,” said Teddy Smith, Director of Operations for Century 21 Thomas.

Century 21 Thomas gave 203 customers 12 CFLs each, to install in their properties, resulting in a total of 2,436 CFLs distributed. This lead to 69,426 kWh/yr estimated total energy savings, with a total dollar savings for Century 21 Thomas customers of $6,248.34/yr.

By using less electricity, companies like Century 21 Thomas can reduce the need for new power plants and help keep the cost of power down. This conserves energy resources and, ultimately, can save money on energy bills.
