Idox's UK Bribery Act SME E-Learning Programme Wins CPD Accreditation

Idox Information Solutions' latest e-learning programme - designed for SMEs seeking to train their staff on the UK Bribery Act - has been granted accreditation by the CPD (continuing professional development) Certification Service.

London, United Kingdom, March 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The CPD accreditation mark means that individuals who undertake the online learning programme can officially count the experience as a contribution towards their own continuing professional development.

The UK-BA e-learning programme has been developed in partnership with the UK law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP. Non-technical and user-friendly, it provides users with an explanation of relevant legal principles and practical scenarios that employees may face. Key summaries of useful tips and test questions reinforce users' understanding of the relevant legal principles and to ensure that they know when to contact their legal advisers on particular issues.

Many small and medium-sized businesses have already implemented the training programme to provide peace of mind that their staff are well versed on the implications of the UK Bribery Act.

Stephen Francis, Partner of Reynolds Porter Chamberlain comments, "Under the old law it was in all practical respects impossible to prosecute companies for bribery and corruption offences. With the introduction of the Bribery Act 2010 that position has changed. Unless companies have in place adequate procedures there is a grave risk that they will commit offences.

But procedures serve another purpose. They also define the scope of legitimate business development activity. Without procedures companies may adopt an over-cautious approach and lose ground to their competitors. The approach we have adopted is neither cautious nor risky. It strikes a proper balance and provides a framework for cost effective and CPD-accredited training to all staff while at the same time promoting legitimate client management and sales activity."
