Star Barcelona Continues Double Digit Growth

Barcelona, Spain, March 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A 12% increase in invoicing and 40% rise in profits: these are the most notable of STAR Servicios Lingüísticos's key results at year-end 2011.

Santos Calle Pareja, Sales Director at the Barcelona company explains the 2011 result stating: “Figures have increased for the second year running, following the spectacular growth of 45% seen in 2010, showing that the previous year's result was not a mere fluke." “We have reacted well to the difficult economic situation, which began in 2008 and this is why we are now able to reap the rewards," he adds.

“The team is paramount. Maintaining the team in difficult times and knowing how to unite the team has played a large part in our success," states Elena Alfaro, Production Director. “We have also improved the main indicators for our quality management system via projects for improvement and innovations in processes and tools. As a result, the percentage of conforming projects has risen from 99.3% in 2010 to 99.6% in 2011. Our clients have noticed this improvement in the level of service. They are very satisfied and their confidence translates in more sales."

“You need to realise that although our market is growing, it is increasingly tougher," states Michael Scholand, CEO of the company.“The stagnating prices and rising costs have significantly reduced margins and therefore we have had to make a huge effort in recent years to 'lose weight,' so to speak, so that we are more 'lean and mean,' but it has been worth the effort. Productivity per employee has increased 40% since 2009; we have reduced the unit labour cost and avoided unnecessary spending. These are difficult times but we see this as a challenge, as an opportunity to improve. Our mission is to support Spanish export companies, helping them sell their products and services worldwide. In terms of the Spanish business network, our work has never been more important and this is very gratifying.”
