Grandson Follows in Grandfather’s Steps in Providing Voice-Overs for Family Car Business TV Ads
Fourth generation joins Earl Stewart Toyota of North Palm Beach.
Lake Park, FL, March 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Local TV viewers are by now familiar with the friendly voice of car dealer Earl Stewart answering his red “hotline” phone in TV commercials promoting his family-owned car dealership in North Palm Beach. His voice saying “Earl Stewart” answering the phone ring is the only sound in the ad.
Now, as the family celebrates its 75th year in the car business in Palm Beach County, another Stewart family member has joined the business at the tender age of 9. Jake Stewart, son of Stu Stewart, general manager of Earl Stewart Toyota and grandson of owner Earl Stewart, Jr. and great grandson of the business founder Earl Stewart Sr., is providing the voice-over of a new TV ad promoting the grand opening of the dealership’s enlarged used car department this week.
The ad features Jake’s youthful voice explaining that if you buy a used car at Earl Stewart Toyota you can return it for your money back for any reason up to seven days after purchase “even if you meet up with an angry T-Rex,” he says, “we’ll take it back, dinosaur drool and all.”
Stu said the idea for the TV spot came about when he and his brothers Jason and Josh, who share managerial duties at the dealership with him, wanted to get across the message about the unconditional money back guarantee. “Just like the simplicity of the ads where my dad answers his phone we wanted to cut the clutter and be totally different from other car commercials featuring fast talking men. We thought what better way to get our message across than by coming up with something ludicrous and ridiculous like a T-Rex stepping on your car. Because this was the kind of fanciful example a child might use, we thought the ad should feature animation of a childlike drawing with a child narrating the story. We tried out my son to do the voice over and he was a natural.”
In fact, Jake will be a special guest at the dealership’s Used Car Department Grand Opening Celebration this Sunday, March 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at the dealership on U.S. Highway One 1Ž4 mile south of Northlake Blvd. on the border between Lake Park and North Palm Beach. He may even be interviewed by Virginia from WILD 95.5 FM as she does a live radio broadcast from the event. Jake will draw the winning ticket for a used Lexus, which is being raffled off at the grand opening with chances going for only $1. Proceeds from the drawing will be donated to Little Smiles, which provides toys and fun experiences for ill children in hospitals and hospice and for those in shelters.
Reaction to the ad has been great, Stu said, except now Jake’s younger sisters Maggie, eight, and Josie, five, want to know when they get to do their commercial.
