NYIRN Kicks Off 10th Anniversary with a New Logo Design
Updated logo product of LogoBeeās non-profit makeover contest
New York, NY, May 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- One of LogoBee’s makeover highlights this year has been re-working the image of the New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN). This coming June will mark NYIRN’s 10th Anniversary. For the occasion they had planned on revising their logo to assist in new fundraising and marketing initiatives. It was with this in mind that they entered LogoBee’s Makeover Contest, which provides winning non-profits with new logo and stationery designs.
The New York Industrial Retention Network focuses on providing free business assistance to New York City manufacturers, with the goal of retaining local blue collar jobs. Over the past ten years, the scope of NYIRN’s activities has continued to grow and expand. With the current trend towards overseas manufacturing and outsourcing, the need to assist local manufacturing industries in retaining jobs and maintaining sustained economic growth has become increasingly important. Manufacturing represents a key employment option to landed immigrants and less skilled workers. It also boasts higher average wages and benefits when compared to local retail and service industries.
NYIRN is also an umbrella organization for a variety of other programs such as the Zoning for Jobs Campaign, Made IN NYC, RenewableNY and Food From New York.
Because of the diversity of programs affiliated with NYIRN, they were hoping that LogoBee could develop a simple design that would not only represent the variety of services they provide, but also be easily reproduced and recognized. The final logo is a freshened version of the old design, however the font has been greatly modified and the graphics cleaned up and retooled to allow for effective resizing on a variety of materials.
“We’re planning on sponsoring many more fundraising and mission-related events this year,” said Anne Seifried, Deputy Director at NYIRN. “For this purpose we wanted to ensure we had an effective logo to help get our message across. The new design has certainly come at a great time for us as we prepare to celebrate our 10th anniversary!”
