International Webinar: How to Conduct Business in Ukraine

Kyiv, Ukraine, March 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Head of IBcontacts Legal Department Oleg Dorofeev launched the tradition of holding webinars by IBcontacts professionals.

The first one in a series of webinars was held for the members of FCIB regarding “Doing Business in Ukraine.” Professionals in finance, credit and international business from all over the world participated in a two-day online seminar.

The topic was of great interest, since many foreign companies face problems in their commercial transactions with Ukrainian partners. The situation is due to the fact that contracts are concluded not properly.

During the webinar, Mr. Dorofeev provided the participants with useful tips on effective business with Ukraine, as well as warned of the typical mistakes made by foreign contractors. The main topics of the lecture were as follows:

• matters of checking status of Ukrainian partners;
• how to conclude contracts with Ukrainian buyers, which legal features should be obeyed;
• how import procedures in Ukraine are conducted, which things are to be taken into consideration, basic practical aspects;
• debt collection in Ukraine: steps to be taken, current practice of amicable and court debt collection, applicability of mediation in Ukraine.

Thanks to an interactive mode of online seminar, the participants could ask questions as well as participate in polls. The audience was mostly interested in features of import and export operations of Ukraine as well as legal aspects of concluding contracts with Ukrainian partners.
