Arizona’s Arrowhead Grill Announces New West-Side Wine Club
Arrowhead Grill wine club to explore the tastes of the “Noble Six” during its first monthly meeting on March 31, from 2-4 p.m.
Glendale, AZ, March 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- March 31 marks the first of Arrowhead Grill’s new, monthly West-Side Wine Club meetings and the exploration of the great tastes of the “Noble Six” grapes and wines: Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The noble grapes are three red and three white varieties that create the highest quality wines without blending. Most originated in France and have long been considered the best the world has to offer.
Chef Charles Wade Schwerd’s West-Side Wine Club will celebrate its inaugural meeting by pairing these great wines with foods that bring out their distinct and complex flavors while exploring the basic concepts of wine grapes, the wine we get from them, and how to find and buy what you like.
“The Noble Six represent the best grapes the world has to offer,” said Chef Charles Wade Schwerd. “We will explore their origins and experience them first-hand the way they were intended to be enjoyed – with food that brings out their deep and hidden flavors.”
The West-Side Wine Club will meet at Arrowhead Grill from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 31st and is open to the public. The cost is $20 per person and reservations are required.
The club will then meet the last Saturday of each month for the World of Wine series to explore the history and evolution of the food and wine of a different region, including Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and the United States.
“Each month we will explore the wines of each region and the food with which it is historically paired,” Schwerd said. “It’s going to be the closest thing to going there, and it’s going to be great fun.”
To RSVP for the first West-Side Wine Club meeting, March 31st, 2-4 p.m., wine enthusiasts and interested novices can call (623) 566-2224. Reservations are required and space is limited.
