Hank Daughtry Awarded for Leading by Example by Texas Self Storage Association

Round Rock, TX, March 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Hank Daughtry, president of Daughtry Properties of San Antonio, was recently recognized by the Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA) Board of Directors for the example he set during their annual fundraising campaign benefiting the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. TSSA raises funds for the burn hospital every year through various activities, most of which take place during their annual convention, such as a charity poker tournament and both a live and silent auction. The Association was already poised to raise a record-breaking amount during the 25th anniversary convention, but Daughtry raised the bar and issued a matching donation challenge to all TSSA members and supporters. Members quickly rose to the challenge and exceeded the amount pledged.

Thanks to his generous offer, the final tally of funds raised for the children’s burn hospital totaled $129,424. The board of directors presented Daughtry with the “Above and Beyond” award for leading by example during their recent meeting held in San Antonio. “His generous spirit exemplifies the best in our industry,” said TSSA board president Tom McCloskey. “He reminds us of how much the Association has done for the industry and how we should do our best to be good corporate citizens within our communities.”

The Texas Self Storage Association will hold its next annual convention and trade show on October 14-16, 2012 in San Antonio.
