Virata Gamany Joins Forces with SickKids Foundation

Virata Gamany, a local businessman known for his real estate expertise, has joined forces with SickKids Foundation to provide support and hope to children suffering from childhood illness.

Toronto, Canada, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SickKids Foundation has long been providing children and families faced with childhood illness a haven where they can find support and hope. Recently, Virata Gamany, well-known as a real estate expert and financier, joined forces with this deserving foundation in the form of a monetary donation, which is being used to help fund medical research for these children.

As an entrepreneur, Gamany is involved with a number of nonprofit organizations, but SickKids Foundation is one he holds near and dear to his heart. With the mission to help improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and throughout the world, Gamany believes this organization provides immeasurable value to these families while proving its worth to our society—more than justifying its worthiness of support.

"There isn't a day goes by I don't think about what this organization is doing for the thousands of children who are affected by its efforts," says Gamany. "It's a difficult situation to even think about, much less to live through. So, supporting this organization through what monetary means I am able is the least I can do."

Founded in 1972, SickKids Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was created as a way to raise funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children. The organization's mission is to help both children and their families live better lives by investing in ways to improve the children's health. In the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2011, SickKids Foundation invested a total of $61.9 million in Child health research, with significant portion of that amount going to critical initiatives.
