Neal Communities Helps Fund Computers for Eternity Temple
Eternity Temple Washington Park CDC Continues Its Community Outreach
Bradenton, FL, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Neal Communities recently donated $1,500 to Eternity Temple Washington Park Community Development Corporation, Inc. (ETWPCDC) to purchase computers for their Welcome Center. ETWPCDC set up the not-for-profit 501 c (3) in 2001 in order to help meet the urgent needs of the people in their community. Neal Communities has contributed to the organization since 2006.
“We’re impressed with groups like Eternity Temple Washington Park CDC because they are directly involved with the people in their community. As a developer, I recognize the importance of neighborhood foundations,” said Neal Communities’ President, Pat Neal. “Their efforts are giving people life skills as well as job skills. They are improving their community one step at a time, one person at a time, one job at a time.”
“Our main objective is to try to get capital so we can hire staff and have a positive impact in our community. Pastors, school principals, and law enforcement have been meeting to see what we can do to offset the crime in this area,” explained Rev. Lawrence C. Livingston, Executive Director of the Eternity Temple Washington Park CDC. “The biggest needs now are jobs and recreation.”
Eternity Temple has worked to meet these needs by building basketball courts and establishing job training courses, offered in the Welcome Center. “We’ve been pretty successful helping people who are serious about looking for jobs. We have an eight-step program that includes background checks and bonding,” added Livingston.
The programs at the Center include FCAT study help, Pell Grant applications, applications for food stamps, unemployment insurance, and medical insurance as well as computer skills classes. Neal Communities’ contributions will help, but more donations of computers are always encouraged. “Our next need is a printer that can be networked for all the computer stations. We welcome any donations of computers or printers,” said Livingston.
Neal Communities is recognized for its philanthropy in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The company’s President, Pat Neal, has received the Legislative Service Award, the Audubon Society Legislative Award, the Award for Meritorious Public Service, The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund Humanitarian of the Year award, and many other awards and recognition for service and philanthropy. Neal Communities was recently named one of 2012’s “America’s Best Builders” by BUILDER Magazine. The company is ranked #1 locally by Metrostudy and Hanley Wood Market Intelligence based on number of home sales. With over 8,600 homes built in Southwest Florida, Neal Communities’ honors and accolades include 37 Parade of Homes 2011 awards, 48 Aurora Awards, 5 Best in American Living Awards, and hundreds of local and regional industry awards.
