Neal Communities and John Neal Homes Partner with Humane Society
Manatee County Humane Society's Annual "Paws In Motion" Event is a Success
Bradenton, FL, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Neal Communities and John Neal Homes were title sponsors of the annual Humane Society of Manatee County’s (HSMC) “Paws in Motion” walk, held last weekend in downtown Bradenton. The event and the kick-off party the night before were major fundraisers for the Humane Society’s innovative programs and services. The HSMC’s mission is to create a No-Kill community where animals receive the compassion and respect they deserve.
The non-profit conducts pet retention programs and a vigorous spay/neuter campaign. By creating a clinic that provides safe, high volume spay/neutering services, the HSMC is effectively preventing future homeless pets. In the last three years, the HSMC has performed about 15,000 spays/neuters. During that time, there’s been a 20 percent decrease in intakes at Manatee County Animal Services.
“From a business perspective, this model works. I’m impressed with their ingenuity. This approach is feasible and the results are measurable,” stated Neal Communities’ President, Pat Neal. “This is a solution-oriented approach to preventing homeless animals.”
“Neal Communities and John Neal Homes are a natural fit with the Humane Society. We’re both committed to homes and community,” said HSMC Executive Director, Amy Van Dell. “The Neals have been faithful and generous partners over the years.”
“It’s all about community. Great communities care about their most fragile citizens,” said John Neal, President of John Neal Homes. “The Humane Society is one of the stand-out animal organizations of this area. They’re providing valuable services that make Manatee an even more desirable place to live.”
The sixth annual “Paws In Motion Walk-A-Thon” raised about $50,000 for the Humane Society of Manatee County. About 50 teams participated in the one mile walk along the Riverfront in Bradenton. The Humane Society of Manatee County is a private non-profit and receives no monies from any national organizations or government entities.
