Presque Isle Downs & Casino’s Bad Beat Jackpot Tops $100,000
The Presque Isle Downs & Casino poker room announced today that the bad beat jackpot has surpassed $100,000.
Erie, PA, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Presque Isle Downs & Casino poker room announced today that its bad beat jackpot has surpassed $100,000.
“We are super excited that our jackpot has reached the $100,000 mark!,” said Christine Stacey, Poker Room Manger. “Someone stands to win over $50,000 for losing, the player with the winning hand will receive over $25,000 and the rest of the players at the table will split the remainder.”
A bad beat jackpot is a prize that is paid when a sufficiently strong hand is shown down and loses to an even stronger hand held by another player. At Presque Isle Downs & Casino the qualifier is Aces full of Kings (player must have pocket Aces).
As of Tuesday morning the official bad beat jackpot total was $106,219.00.
The last bad beat jackpot was awarded in December when Joseph Carlis of Erie, PA, won $26,836.75 and Edward Felden of Eastlake, Ohio, won $13,418.88 in a 1-2 No Limit Hold’em Game. Carlisi had the losing hand with quad 10’s. Felden won with four Queens. Seven others players won $1916 each as part of the table share.
“We started the bad beat jackpot because we wanted to enhance the customer experience,” said Mike Tamburelli, Presque Isle Downs & Casino General Manager. “This is a lot of money we are talking about here. The bad beat jackpot will certainly temper the loss of someone’s great hand losing to a better one.”
Two bad beat jackpots have been awarded since the poker room opening.
