Introduction to Sustainability Concepts is a 15 hour, online, self-paced course designed to equip students and adults with a strong foundational knowledge of sustainability, the science and technology of promoting sustainability, and the balance between environmental, social, and economic concerns. The materials provide students with a thorough introduction to sustainability topics such as ecosystems, energy and water challenges, life-cycle analysis, and climate change science. The course incorporates hands-on audits, online modules, nationwide discussion forums, and dynamic instruction methods. Visit www.greeneducationfoundation.org/institute for more information about this and other sustainability courses.
GEF Institute also offers certifications to encourage and motivate individuals to take steps toward sustainability literacy and action. While working toward any level of certification, participants become engaged with important topics in sustainability through real world examples, interactive activities, and dynamic instruction. The goal of the certifications is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary for success in the higher education or the workplace.
