April 22nd to April 30th is National Infertility Awareness Week: Free Public Fertility Awareness Seminar and IVF Cycle Give Away

Jacksonville Fertility Clinic Joins with Local Health Care Professionals and RESOLVE to Put Spotlight on Fertility During National Infertility Awareness Week – jacksonvillebaby.com

Jacksonville, FL, April 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A Jacksonville fertility clinic is once again joining RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association to celebrate the 23rd annual National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW), April 22, 2012 to April 28, 2012. Along with thousands of infertile men and women, healthcare professionals, and other community leaders, the goal is to promote greater awareness about infertility. The slogan for this year’s NIAW campaign is “Don’t Ignore Infertility.”

In honor of NIAW, Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Medicine will host a free patient education seminar, the Jacksonville Fertility Awareness Seminar, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Wyndham Hotel downtown Jacksonville, FL. The focus of the event is to provide comprehensive education on all facets of infertility including the causes of infertility, evaluation and treatment options, and adjuvant mind/body therapies.

This will be a great chance for couples to discuss their questions/concerns with a fertility specialist. Seminar attendees are eligible to win a complimentary IVF treatment cycle if they attend the entire seminar and are present at the time of drawing.

“We wanted the opportunity to give back to the community by providing free information and access to advice that may not be available otherwise,” said Dr. Christopher Lipari of Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Medicine.

Beth Hopkins Acampora, AP of the Center for Acupuncture, Amy Decker, LCSW of the Life Counseling Center and Dustyn Williams, MA, LMHC, of the Infertility Counseling Center of Jacksonville will also be discussing current adjuvant therapies available to patients with sub-fertility.

The event has been very well attended in previous years with more than 300 attendees last year. Winners from previous years have said that the free IVF cycle changed their lives.

For more information about the seminar, go to jacksonvillebaby.com. Attendees must register to reserve a seat by completing the registration form online.

Infertility affects 7.3million people in the United States alone. This figure represents 12% of women of reproductive age. Approximately one-third of infertility is attributed to the female partner, one-third to the male partner and one-third is caused by a combination of factors.

Often couples are not aware that their chances of having their own biological child are greatly reduced as they approach their early to mid 30s. Child bearing is delayed due to career progression, financial issues and countless other reasons. This event will raise awareness that both men and women need to seek fertility evaluation and treatment sooner rather than later.
