Broward SCORE, Hispanic Unity Celebrate First-Ever Spanish Graduating Class from Its Business Boot Camp
Broward SCORE now partners with Hispanic Unity of Florida to offer business workshops for South Florida's Spanish speaking residents.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Broward SCORE, in partnership with Hispanic Unity of Florida, is proud to announce the first graduating class of Pasos Sencillos Para Iniciar Su Negocio (Simple Steps for Starting a Business), a business boot camp for aspiring entrepreneurs.
“Together with Hispanic Unity we are delighted with the results of the pilot program,” said George Gremse, vice chair of Broward SCORE. “It went so well that we will present the program three more times in 2012 at the Hispanic Unity in Hollywood.”
Broward SCORE and Hispanic Unity teamed up earlier this year to offer business workshops in Spanish. SCORE translated its popular workshop series – Simples Steps for Starting Your Business - into Spanish. Bi-lingual volunteers Carlos Ayala and Ernie Cevallos led the workshops and with volunteer Hector Arrillaga are mentoring the participants.
The class was held weekly on five consecutive Saturdays at Hispanic Unity, 5840 Johnson St., in Hollywood. The first class of 10 students graduated earlier this month.
Pasos Sencillos takes participants through the process of developing their business idea to building a marketing plan, establishing a financial forecast, defining the startup capital needed and identifying funding sources.
Broward SCORE offers on average of 15 workshops a month, including the English version of Pasos Sencillos – Simples Steps. To view the future Pasos Sencillos program dates and to view the full list of 2012 workshops visit www.broward.score.org.
Broward SCORE will also participate at Hispanic Unity’s 2012 Entrepreneur Summit on April 20th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
